Organic Training Opportunities

lehmann natur runs training sessions for market manager in the retail food business

These training opportunities for up to approx. 12 persons per session are designed to enhance expertise in organic issues and develop sales strategies. This training idea grew out of interactions with the personnel development departments of our customers. Each session lasts one day and consists of three parts:

1. Principles of organic farming.

2. Range and product placing.

3. Healthy diet with organic products.

Training has so far produced very positive results leading to success in the subsequent sales discussions and presentation of the organic products in the shop. It has been evident that sales have risen in some regions by up to 80%.

A total of 12 such sessions were held in the early part of 2007. More training sessions were planned for the second half of 2007.

Organic food is booming

lehmann natur  is increasing the size of its team and renting 200 m2 more office space

Growth developed last year at such a furious pace that in 2006 Lehmann Natur increased its office space in Düsseldorf from 200 m² to 600 m². In 2007, 12 new employees were recruited.

lehmann natur installs a «wall of fame»

To mark the increase in office space, Lehmann Natur has inaugurated a «wall of fame», celebrating pioneers in organic farming

Some simple photographs accompanied by brief biographies are displayed on the wall next to our new conference room.

The wall honours early pioneers in the field of organic farming, such as Rudolf Steiner, Hans and Maria Müller, Sir Albert Howard and Lady Eve Balfour because Lehmann Natur owes an indirect debt of  gratitude to these pioneering figures.

Switch to compostable packaging

lehmann natur has decided to be the first wholesaler in Germany to switch to compostable packaging

Compostable packaging is a low-resource product made from PLA, a transparent product made from maize and also a coloured product made from sugar cane.

The packaging can be disposed of with ordinary household rubbish or can be added to the compost heap and does not have to be disposed of via the German Green Point system - unlike conventional plastic packaging. This packaging will display the seedling logo to identify it as compostable. Although compostable packaging is more expensive than plastic, disposal is considerably cheaper and easier on the environment. The change is scheduled to take place in the coming months.
