Demeter e.V. is the oldest organic farming association in Germany. Since 1924, Demeter farmers have been cultivating their fields using biodynamic methods. Thanks to its dynamic circular economy, Demeter farming is considered the most sustainable form of agriculture and goes far beyond the requirements of the EU Organic Regulation. As a member of the Demeter Association, we—together with our partner companies—follow the ideal of biodynamic farming developed by Rudolf Steiner and his successors.
Through our collaboration with the sustainability consulting firm Soil & More Impacts, we were able to launch a joint project for climate-neutral fruits and vegetables. In this project,CO2 emissions in our own value chain are offset through measures such as composting or intercropping—that is, planting a second crop in addition to a primary crop that matures earlier.
Since 2013, the Zukunftsstiftung Landwirtschaft and lehmann natur have shared a deep connection. Not only do we share common interests, such as the organic breeding of open-pollinated varieties, but we also work together to promote organic farming.
Together with our partner company BIOFRUSAN—a dedicated and innovative importer specializing in bananas and nut products—we share the same goal: to make organic and Demeter-certified products available to everyone.
Through our Italian subsidiary, Tesoribio, we operate contract farming in all of Italy’s production regions, with a focus on citrus fruits. Our partner and local managing director—Carmelo Micale—grows organic lemons and organic oranges on 700 hectares in accordance with EU Organic, Demeter, and Naturland guidelines.

Our subsidiary Organic Terra Rica is an association of Spanish organic fruit and vegetable growers. Together, we achieve more than any single one of us could alone – covering everything from production planning and financing to packaging, distribution, and logistics.
The corporate group Dr. Lippert QM offers expertise in all aspects of quality management (particularly product quality and food safety) for fresh fruit and vegetables. Concerning our risk-oriented residue analysis, auditing, quality controls, etc., we rely on the support of our regional and long-term partner.
In partnership with FOM University of Economics & Management in Düsseldorf, we support students in the two bachelor’s degree programs—International Management and Business Administration—on their academic journey.
