The desire to finally come together in person again with experts in the fruit and vegetable industry has grown steadily over the past two years. Now the time has come: After several trade shows were canceled due to the pandemic, Fruit Logistica will take place in Berlin this April. Lehmann Natur will be there again this year. A new booth has been designed, entirely in line with the motto “Climate-Positive Agriculture Through Permaculture.” To achieve this, several factors must align. After all, the path to climate positivity—and thus a potential way out of the climate crisis—lies in our soils.
Over the past two years, consumer interest in climate-neutral products has increased. This, combined with calls to reduce thecarbon footprint, is also reflected in the retail sector. WhileCO2 offsetting may be a short-term solution, longer-term approaches such as permaculture and healthy soil offer a potential lasting solution. Healthy soil is rich in humus, and this humus is home to various microorganisms, such as soil bacteria and fungi. These microorganisms ensure thatCO2 can be sequestered in the soil. In addition to microorganisms, the way the land is managed is also crucial. As a methodology, permaculture brings together the key, future-oriented themes of organic agriculture: climate-positive agriculture, carbon farming, circular economy, biodiversity, resource conservation, and social responsibility. But what exactly is permaculture? And why does Lehmann Natur rely on open-pollinated organic and Demeter seeds?
To continue discussing these topics and their implementation with industry experts, lehmann natur GmbH looks forward to meeting you at Fruit Logistica 2022 in Berlin from April 5–7 in Hall 20. The topics are:
About Lehmann Natur
