While many citrus fruits are imported from overseas during the summer, we are now eagerly awaiting the first harvest of our organic lemons from Italy this October.
To get an early overview of product quality and availability, our managing directors, Olaf Kleinlein and Raphael Kennerknecht, visited our citrus plantation in Sicily with our long-time partner, Carmelo. “We expect yields to decline slightly compared to the above-average years of 2023 and 2024—without compromising on outstanding quality,” says Olaf Kleinlein.
Our organic lemons are not only free of synthetic chemical pesticides, but they are also not treated with waxes or preservatives after harvest. “More and more consumers want to be able to use the entire product without hesitation—including the peel. With our organic lemons, there’s no need to compromise: they’re juicy, healthy, sustainable, and free of chemicals,” emphasizes Raphael Kennerknecht.
To meet the growing demand for high-quality, European organic lemons, we are already planting more citrus trees in Italy—all 100% organic, of course.
We’re looking forward to a vibrant European citrus season—and to the first orders from our retail partners starting in calendar week 44.
